synopsis

Israel | 2021 | 86 min | Hebrew & English

Behind the international success story of Amos Oz—a writer whose works have been translated into 45 languages and who has been held up as a spokesperson and symbol of the Israeli conscience—lurked a tumultuous personal life. When he was 12 years old, his mother died by suicide. Several years before his death, his daughter accused him of being physically and mentally violent during her childhood. Through a series of conversations with Nurit Gertz, his latest biographer, and a tapestry of biography, literature, and conversations with significant people in his life, “The Fourth Window” tells  Oz’s last story.
